HOTELS DURING COVID!

We are having an absolute blast on our road trip from California to Florida. We are outside exploring, and we are enjoying so many national treasures. I hope the girls always remember these special times together. I know that I will have endless memories from this trip!

But, you may be wondering… Where are they sleeping every night? Well, we are staying at hotels! Hotels?? Aren’t you worried about Covid? And of course, it is always on our mind, but we are so thankful to Hilton for rolling out their CleanStay program. We are staying in Hilton hotels for seven out of the ten nights, and we have been so happy at every Hilton property thus far.

CleanStay is a program that allows for more intensive cleaning of hotels rooms and public spaces so that guests can feel comfortable coming back to hotels. Hilton has partnered with RB, which is the maker of Lysol products!

So, what’s different? Here are a few of the items that I have noticed:

  1. Sealed doors – Each room is sealed by a CleanStay sticker once the room has been cleaned and inspected. After the seal is put on, no one enters the room until the guest arrives. It definitely helps reassure me of the room’s cleanliness.

2. Elevator limits – If the elevator is small, there is a sign explaining that the elevator occupancy is limited to single party use, which means only guests that are traveling and staying together can be in the elevator together. If it is a larger elevator and there is room for social distancing, the sign asks that social distance is practiced as well as a 4-person max.

3. Masks & Sanitizer – In every hotel that we have visited, masks are REQUIRED in any public spaces. In addition, there has been sanitizer placed by the front desk, elevators, and other high public areas for use.

4. Front Desk shields – In each hotel, there has been a clear shield at the front desk for a slot to hand items back and forth, or there has been a table placed in front so that you are able to keep six feet of distance.

Overall, I have been very impressed with this new program, and I’m thankful that Hilton has taken the initiative so that we can continue traveling carefully. Have you visited any hotels since COVID? Thank you for wandering along with us!
