SIGHTSEEING DURING CORONA!

Have you thought about a quick trip to this city or town? And then, have you changed your mind because you are not sure that there is much to do because of Corona? What’s the point in going somewhere if you can not sightsee? Well, i’m here to tell you that it is possible! The sights may look different, but it is feasible to get out and see some places while staying far away from people.

Well, how do you actually do this then? I wanted to let you know about six tips that I follow anytime we are out and about. Please know that this is just what we do in order to feel comfortable getting out! Each person has their own boundaries when it comes to this pandemic, and we are definitely not here to judge or to tell you what to do!

1. Stay outside – We never go anywhere inside. We have not been to a museum or science center since the pandemic started. Most are closed, but there are some that are open. There is so much natural beauty around, and it has been a blast to explore some of it!

2. Wear a mask – We ALWAYS wear a mask when we leave the car. Once we assess the situation, we take it off if there is no one in a radius that we deem fit. In lots of our pictures, you will see the girls masks pulled down under their chins because you never know when someone will come by so it’s important to take the necessary precautions.

3. Go early – We try to get to a place that we know will be busy as early as possible. It usually helps with the crowds as well as makes for a better experience.

4. Pack snacks – Even without a pandemic, we always plan to bring snacks. But in order to avoid stopping at different places for food, it definitely helps to bring snacks since who knows when a hangry child will appear.

5. Toys for the car – Since most of our stops include a drive-by or a decent drive to get somewhere, we like to bring items to keep the kids busy in the car. During our time in California, we have done a lot of multiple sightseeing stops, and it can take a lot of time to get from one place to the other so we always try to bring things to keep the kids occupied.

6. Have fun – Last but not least… Have fun! This pandemic is stressful so get out and do what makes you happy. For me, it is traveling and seeing sights. I feel comfortable doing that if I do the items listed above.
