WHO ELSE IS READY FOR A GIRLS TRIP??

I absolutely love to travel with my kids and my husband. But after six-plus weeks in quarantine together, I am craving time away with my friends. There is nothing better for the soul than uncontrollable laughter and great memories with your girlfriends. Do you have any great girls’ trip ideas?

In the past few years, I’ve been so lucky to experience wonderful girls’ trips. Some of my favorites include the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC, Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC, The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, PA, and The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC. I’m definitely dreaming about returning to these four places once the restrictions lift.

4. Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC – The Omni Grove Park Inn was built in 1913, and it showcases beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. One of my friends has a family home in Asheville, so we were able to stay there while enjoying some of the amenities at the Grove Park Inn. My husband and I also spent our ten year anniversary celebrating at this resort, and it was spectacular.

After we arrived at the resort, we enjoyed drinks at the Great Hall Bar. There was live piano music in the background, which made for a great ambiance. We then checked out Edison Burger for dinner, and the food was delicious, along with the beautiful views. Afterwards, we headed to the piano bar. It was a blast singing along with the dueling piano players to some of our favorite songs, and my friend even received a birthday serenade!

3. The Ritz-Carlton in Washington, DC – For this girls’ trip, I actually hijacked my husband’s football weekend with his buddies. We all piled into the car and drove up north to his parents’ home in PA. Both Gregg & I left the kids at his parents’ house and went our separate ways! I met my friend, Marie, in DC, and we had a great day being tourists, shopping, and eating delicious food.

We were very lucky to be able to use my husband’s points for a night at the Ritz-Carlton, and it was stunning. We ventured out to Georgetown for shopping and Georgetown Cupcakes, enjoyed a delicious dinner at the hotel bar, and saw some of the sights. At the end of the night, we were exhausted and enjoyed some champagne in the room while watching a Hallmark movie.

2. Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC – With all of our children’s crazy schedules, it can be difficult to find a whole weekend for a getaway with friends. A few of my friends and I decided to go away for a night. There is a resort & spa within thirty minutes that was the perfect spot. Luckily, they were offering a girls getaway package, which included a spa voucher, breakfast, and champagne. Sounds perfect, right?? And, it was!!! It was just what we all needed! We hung out by the pool, got massages, and ate lots of delicious food.

1. The Lodge at Woodloch in Hawley, PA Travel & Leisure has named The Lodge at Woodloch as number nine on their list of the top ten destination spas in the U.S.

My best friend decided that she wanted a spa experience for her bachelorette party, and as her Matron of Honor, I could not wait to plan an amazing spa getaway. We booked the complete spa package, and it was definitely worth it. All three meals were included in this package, as well as a full day of activity options and a $140 spa credit each day. It is seriously any mom’s dream vacation.
