DREAMING ABOUT OUR ANNIVERSARY TRIP TO ASHEVILLE

Most people can usually be categorized as a beachgoer or a mountain person. I grew up going to the Jersey Shore and absolutely loved it. But, after moving to North Carolina, I have definitely morphed into a huge fan of the mountains. There is nothing quite like a mountain view or the crisp air. What do you consider yourself?

For our ten year anniversary this past June, Gregg and I decided to visit the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, NC to celebrate. The Omni Grove Park Inn was built in 1913, and it showcases beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. This resort has so much to offer, even for children! Check out this virtual tour of the resort from North Carolina Weekend on UNC-TV.

As you can see from the picture above, the architecture on this building is just unreal and majestic. In addition to the beautiful exterior, this resort offers so many amenities. During our weekend away, I was able to enjoy the spa and get a massage while Gregg spent some time on the golf course, which was designed by Donald Ross. If you have the opportunity to visit the spa, I highly recommend it. It is beautiful, soothing, and just an all around superb experience. We enjoyed all of the restaurants as well. The piano bar is also on the must do list. It was a blast singing along with the dueling piano players to some of our favorite songs!

As far as activities for children, there is an indoor pool and sports complex, as well as an outdoor pool. Children from 5-12 years old can enjoy planned activities without parents! They are supervised by great staff, and the kids are able to do arts and crafts, swimming, and sports. Make sure to check with the resort to find out more!

Whether you want a romantic or family weekend, the Omni Grove Park Inn is definitely a must do!! Thank you for wandering along with us, and stay safe!
