THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY OF HAPPINESS!
What is the Chocolate Factory of Happiness? Well, this is what Maestrani’s Chocolarium has named itself, and it is definitely a very happy place. How could you not be happy in a chocolate factory with free chocolate?? Olivia and I loved our special visit during our mommy and daughter weekend to the Chocolate Factory of Happiness!
When we first arrived in the small village of Flawil, we headed to the Discovery Tour! This tour is a self-guided tour of the chocolate-making process. Monday through Friday you are also able to see live production. Since we visited on a holiday, we were not able to see the production. The best part of the tour … FREE CHOCOLATE SAMPLES! There are chocolate fountains (white, dark, & milk), where you can pour some delicious chocolate on a spoon, and there are individually wrapped candies to enjoy! It is recommended to give yourself about one hour to enjoy this tour, and it is in German and English.
At the end of the tour, there is a shop filled with delicious candy and goodies. Of course, Olivia and I picked up some for Gregg and Emma to try when we got home! If you need some delicious lunch or food before or after your tour, the Chocolate Café has you covered.
So, do you think we were full from chocolate samples yet? NOPE!! We were now ready for the Colorful Chocolate Figures Moulding Course! This course lasted two hours and it cost 40 CHF for an adult and 30 CHF for a child. We started the experience by picking out the figure mould we wanted. We were able to choose between a squirrel, dog, whale, motorcycle, and monkey. After choosing our moulds, we were able to decorate them with either white, milk, or dark chocolate. Olivia absolutely loves art, so decorating her chocolate squirrel was a blast and we had such a great time together!

Have you ever experienced a chocolate factory? We have also visited Lindt Home of Chocolate and Hershey’s Chocolate World. Thank you so much for wandering along with us!
