LAS VEGAS WITH KIDS!
Sin City with kids? Are you nuts? I’m guessing that is what you’re thinking! Well, actually, there is a ton to do with kids! This past November we went with our family to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving. Nevada was the girls’ 18th state!
Emma had previously been to Las Vegas when I was pregnant with Olivia for Thanksgiving in 2013. During our first time in Las Vegas, we did visit a few kid friendly stops even though Emma was only fourteen months, including the Adventuredome in Circus Circus and the Downtown Container Park. The Adventuredome is a 5-acre indoor amusement park. There are rides for kids of all ages, and Emma really enjoyed the rides!
Sometimes, it’s hard to believe that she was that little! The Downtown Container Park is a shopping center made from shipping containers. In the middle, there is a courtyard with an amazing playground. I think Emma would have stayed and waddled around all day if we had let her.
As far as this past trip, we definitely did a bunch more kid-friendly activities, so I’m going to list our top five experiences!
5. Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden – The Bellagio is a beautiful hotel and casino. In the registration area, there is an amazing Chihuly sculpture on the ceiling. I highly recommend checking it out, as well as the Conservatory & Botanical Garden. This is a free attraction, and it currently has a Chinese New Year display.
4. Madame Tussaud’s – Madame Tussaud’s is a wax museum located in the Venetian. The girls loved pretending to stand just like the wax figures. There are figures all over the place, and they truly look real. Sometimes, I had to look more than once to figure out if it was a wax figure or actual person.
3. Venetian Gondola Ride – I have been on an authentic Gondola ride in Venice, Italy, and wow, riding on a Gondola at the Venetian was very similar! We were thrilled that our Gondola was indoors because the weather was definitely on the cool side outside. Our Gondolier’s voice was beautiful. The girls were mesmerized by the experience and definitely loved the fact that we were on a boat while inside!
2. High Roller – We are definitely a thrill ride family, and the High Roller was a great way to experience the views of Las Vegas with a little thrill! The High Roller takes thirty minutes to go a full cycle and gets up to 550 feet in the sky. We were lucky enough to ride on a sunny day, and the views were spectacular.
If you go on the High Roller and are in the mood for a more thrilling experience afterwards, I highly recommend the zipline. You can fly seated or superhero style, either going frontwards or backwards. I am extremely scared of heights so I went with seated and frontwards! Unfortunately, the girls were not big enough as you have to be at least 60 pounds. It felt great to fly through Sin City, and I actually did it twice!
1. Wandering around the strip & hotels/casinos – During this visit, we stayed at the Wynn Las Vegas. Wynn is another one of my favorite hotels/casinos to walk around because the floral displays are just beautiful. Throughout our trip, we were also able to walk along the strip and check out many different hotels/casinos. Some of these included Paris, New York New York, Caesar’s Palace, Bellagio, Venetian, and The Linq.
We hope you enjoyed reading about our experiences in Las Vegas. I think it is a great place to take your kids if you want to go! Thank you for wandering along with us!

Great info here. I just got back from a ten-day trip to Vegas to visit family. I agree that there is so much to do with children in Vegas. Love knowing that you could take you daughters on The HIgh Roller. I know they have a bar in each car and wondered if kids could ride. Our granddaughter who lives in Vegas is almost four we weren’t sure if she would be up for it.
I highly recommend Lion Habitat Ranch in Henderson. They house the former MGM lions and have a giraffe named Ozzie who paints! I have never been so up close with lions and it was the thrill of a lifetime.
