FIVE FAMILY-FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES TO DO IN QUARANTINE

Hi everyone!! Hope you’re doing well in quarantine and not going stir crazy! We have our good and bad days, but we are really trying to enjoy our time together as a family. When else are we going to be able to have so much time to spend together? I’m super hopeful that this will not become a yearly occurrence! So, what have we been up to? Well, I wanted to list our five favorite family-friendly activities that we have done while in quarantine.

5. Water balloon fight – If the weather allows, a sneak attack water balloon fight is super fun. There are always so many giggles and great memories! After a long day outside, the girls and I decided to surprise Gregg with some water balloons. I texted him and said I needed to show him something outside, and he was definitely surprised when three water balloons came flying at him!

We have fallen in love with using bunch o balloons. You can make 100 water balloons in 60 seconds, and they are self-tying. It’s amazing and makes for a really easy set-up. Also, they are biodegradable so you do not have to worry about picking up every single teeny tiny piece. If the weather is not great, my friend mentioned to me today that her family likes to do silly string fights.

4. Hiking – As I have mentioned before, North Carolina has so many great state parks. Unfortunately due to Coronavirus, most of them are not open because of large crowds. Luckily, we have been exploring the Greensboro trail system, and we have been impressed with all of the options in the area. We hope you are pleasantly surprised with the trail system in your area as well! The kids have also really enjoyed our new hobby. We try to treat it as an adventure which seems to make the miles shorter.

3. Movie Night – Surprisingly, I have never seen Star Wars. I know, it’s kind of unheard of, right? Well, we decided to spend some of our nights watching a few of the Star Wars movies since our Disney trip is on the horizon (hopefully). The kids are really enjoying these movies, and we love watching them as a family!

We are also planning to have a Trolls World Tour family premier party. I ordered Trolls themed plates, napkins, a tablecloth, and some party favors from Target. We will make popcorn and set up the family room as a theater. It definitely gives us something fun to plan, as well as something for the kids to look forward to.

2. Baking or cooking dinner together – Who knew cooking could be so much fun? I think my husband knew it was fun before all of this, but he might be getting tired of cooking dinner all the time. However, when we all get involved, we have been having a great time cooking and baking together. The girls have really taken an interest in helping in the kitchen.

1. Escape Game KitThank you so much to Escape Game Kit for sending us a complimentary code for a kit. All opinions are our own!

Think your kids would love an escape room but cannot leave the house due to quarantine? Well, we were so lucky to be able to experience the Sleeping Curse Escape Kit, and the girls absolutely loved it. They were so engaged and it was such a fun thing to do aside from the regular things we have been doing to keep ourselves busy.

The object of the game is to find the potion formula to lift the sleeping curse. It is accomplished through a series of treasure hunts and puzzles. Both of which were very kid-friendly (with a little help from mom and dad). If you are looking for something else to keep your kids busy and are running out of ideas, we highly suggest the Sleeping Curse Escape Kit. It was a great way to spend time together as a family for an evening.

Hope our favorite family-friendly activity ideas help keep your family busy! Stay safe! And, thank you for wandering along with us!
